So...I was looking at this and it has been a year and a half since I last posted. Life happens I guess, but I am going to try to get back in the groove and begin taking and posting my pics on a more regular basis. Here are a few to get me started again.
These shots were taken in Minnesota of the "Tall Ships." They come once every summer to give tours and info on the old sailing ships. They were so majestic, and just seemed to fit on the lake in just the right way.
Hello all! I haven't posted for a LONG time. My apologies. My father was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia in March of 2010. In October 2010, we put a team together and participated in Light the Night. Light the night is the annual nationwide fundraiser and awareness event for those fighting a blood cancer. It is a unique event as participants walk in the evening while carrying a lighted balloon. At the end of the walk, you release your balloon. Here are some pics from the night.
I visit the North Shore of Lake Superior a lot. But I never get bored there. Different seasons bring different views of things, and even places I have visited multiple times, I still enjoy going there again and again. I always seem to find something new to see.
These are the lupines that grow in our yard in northern Minnesota. They grow wild here, and often line the ditches along the roadway. They vary in color from deep purple/blue to white.
Happy 4th of July everyone!! We went to Yankee Doodle Pops the other night- a lovely free event in the city of Des Moines. On the grounds of the capitol, the Des Moines Symphony plays, and then there are fireworks later. It was a beautiful night, not too hot or muggy. We had a great time.
Here are some shots I got the other morning of some spiderwebs. I don't think I have ever seen so many spiderwebs at once. It was a foggy, muggy morning, and there were spider webs EVERYWHERE!!!
I have not posted for a LONG time!!! Been pretty busy around here. I attended a wine and music festival last weekend, and got some pretty cool shots. Hope you enjoy them.
Wow. Its been a long time since I last posted. I am not living up to my "photo a day" tagline. I will attempt to do better, as it seems that maybe, just maybe, spring will come- sooner rather than later. Last night I went with a friend to a local winery. Had lots of fun, and took some fun pics.
Christmas morning my sister's dog, Paisley, did not want to let me have my Christmas present. She was using it for herself, and kept giving me the evil eye when I tried to reach for it.
On Christmas day, there was a lot of wind and weather coming off of Lake Superior. The waves were huge. I got some pictures of the waves as they splashed against the breakwater in the harbor.
